Cross Country Practices Begin September 6th

Cross Country practices will begin Saturday, September 6th at 10 am in Mundy Park. We meet in the parking lot at Mariner and Chilko. Practice will last one hour. Athletes in Grade 8 and up need a watch with a functional stopwatch.

Our second practice of the week will be at 4:30 on Tuesdays, also in Mundy Park.

The JD cross country racing schedule begins with the Pinetree Classic in Mundy Park on Saturday, September 20.

Ayesu-Attah and George Win Silver Medal at NACAC Championships

Nathan George led off Canada's 4x400m relay with an outstanding run to keep Canada close to the United States and Benjamin Ayesu-Attah ran the anchor leg to secure the silver medal at the North America, Central America and Caribbean Championships. Devin Biocchi of Ottawa and Gregory MacNeill of London also ran strong legs for Canada who were expected to battle with Jamaica and Costa Rica for the silver or bronze medal.

Both George and Ayesu-Attah are building outstanding reputations as Canadian relay team members. George helped set the Canadian Junior 4x400m record and won a bronze medal last year at the Pan Am Junior Championships in Medellin, Columbia and Ayesu-Attah won a silver medal in the 4x400m relay at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia. Both athletes will be looking towards running for Canada next year at the Pan Am Championships which Canada will host in Toronto, Ontario.

Linde Anchors Relay to Bronze Medal at NACAC Championships

James Linde ran a strong anchor leg for Team Canada in the 4x100m relay to secure the bronze medal at the North America, Central America and Caribbean Track and Field Championships. Drelan Bramwell of Sarnia, Ontario led off for Canada with Benjamin Williams of Edmonton, Alberta running second and Gregory McNeill of London, Ontario running third. The gold medal was won by the United States with Jamaica winning silver.

Benjamin Ayesu-Attah ran an outstanding final 100m in the 400m final and finished an outstanding fourth and was closely followed by his Canadian and Cheetah teammate Nathan George in 6th. Both George and Ayesu-Attah will be running on Canada's 4x400m relay. Linde continues to be a possibilty as a double medalist as he is an alternate on the 4x400m relay.

Ayesu-Attah and George Qualify for 400m Final at NACAC Championships

Benjamin Ayesu-Attah and Nathan George both placed third in their respective 400m heats and qualified for the 400m final at the North America, Central America, and Caribbean Championships. The leading qualifiers were Bralon Taplin of Grenada, and Brycen Spratling and Vernoon Norwood of the United States. Both George and Ayesu-Attah will also run for Canada in the 4x400m relay.
