Season Winding Down, Thank You to Our Volunteers

Last week was the last week of JD practices for the season and so we begin to wind down for the summer break.

A hearty thank-you to all our coaches for your time and effort at the track this year and to our other volunteers who helped keep the club running. Without your dedication, there would be no club.

There is rumour of the Annual Cheetah Beach Party taking place possibly on August 9th. Please check back in the next few days for further details.

Details regarding Cross Country in September will be posted in the coming weeks.

High Jump - Assistance with Mats Needed

In order to set up the high jump equipment, we need at least 2 parent volunteers to meet at the high jump area this Wednesday and Thursday to assist with pulling out the mats. Final week…
It is a bit much for 1 person to manage without help. We have come close to cancelling a few times over the past several weeks as we progress into summer. With the hot sunny weather it seems that fewer parents are at the track with the kids.

If you are able to help with the mats, please come over to the high jump area around 6:30… we still have the JD athletes training before the provincials… the Midgets and Juniors are pretty much done for the season.

Thanks!!!

Thursday Shot Put

Steve Boylan will not be available Thursday July 20th for shot put practice. But will be in attendance at the JD Championship meet Friday through Sunday.

Check Lost and Found Box Before It Gets Emptied on Thursday, July 20th

Club members are encouraged to check the Lost and Found box (labelled Lost and Found and located in the Equipment Shed) for any items that might belong to them.

Any items remaining in the box after Thursday, July 20th, will be donated to Big Brothers.

BC Athletics is asking families that may have extra rooms available to consider acting as hosts and billeting athletes and their parents.

If you can accommodate your fellow athletes please, ASAP, email Maureen at Ocean Athletics (mdestcroix@sotique.com) back with:
  • Number of rooms
