Blake Sprints to Relay Gold for Canada

Jerome Blake of the Coquitlam Cheetahs ran the second leg of Canada’s winning 4x100m relay team at the NACAC championships held in Toronto August 10-12. Blake ran a brilliant 2nd leg of the relay and was rewarded with his first international medal. Canada was followed to the finish line by Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago. Early in the day, Blake was 5th in the 200m, narrowly missing the podium by 7/100 of a second.

Nathan George ran the race of his life to anchor the Canadian 4x400m relay to a fourth place finish. His split time of 44.67 was one the fastest relay carries in Canadian history. Canada’s time of 3:04.73 is the 2nd fastest time in Canadian history and the fastest time for Canada in 42 years.

Congratulations to our Cheetah athletes!
