Cheetahs Excel Under Windy Conditions

A group of 25 athletes traveled to the SFU campus to compete in the Emily Mondor Invitational Track and Field Meet on Saturday, April 9. Extreme headwinds meant personal best times were unlikely but Cheetah athletes continued to excel in early season performances.

Nathan George lead the way with a win in the 400m in a season best time of 46.81. Josh Adhemar also ran to victory in the 400m hurdles, opening the season in 53.83, his second best time ever.

Jaeland Cummings led the Cheetah surge in the women's 100m with a 2nd place run. Cheetahs finished with five athletes in the top nine of the women's 100m.

The brother and sister team of Liepa and Marty Bajarunas both threw personal best distances in the javelin events which were contested at Percy Perry Stadium.
