Nathan George and Ben Ayesu-Attah win National Titles

The Canadian Track and Field Championships were recently held in Langley, BC and gathered over 1600 athletes from across Canada. Nathan George won the Cheetahs first gold medal of the meet by leading start to finish and collecting his second Canadian title in the 400m. George won his first Canadian title back in 2016 in a personal best time of 45.97 in Edmonton. Six years later in Langley, George lowered his personal best by half a second to win in a time of 45.54 which moves him to number 4 on the Canadian all-time list!

Not to be outdone, Ben Ayesu-Attah running in his first national championships in the 400m hurdles charged out of the blocks and never looked back to win in a massive personal best time of 51.04. Ayesu-Attah was the National Champion in the 400m in 2017. Also running a personal best in the 400m hurdles was Joshua Adhemar who secured the bronze medal.

The Cheetahs sent a contingent of 12 athletes to the Nationals in the U20 category and the Open category. Results are listed below; just to note, many of the Cheetah athletes raced as members of the BC Team.
