The Coquitlam Cheetahs made their mark at the 2026 Canadian Youth Legion Track & Field Championships. Competing against the nation's top U16 and U18 talent, our athletes stepped up to the challenge, putting in the work and delivering fantastic performances across the board.
Jaylah Dennis' Golden Hat-Trick
Competing for Team BC, Cheetahs Jaylah Dennis had an unforgettable weekend. Jaylah dominated the U18 division, bringing home an incredible Triple Gold finish!
1st Place – U18 Women's 100m
1st Place – U18 Women's 200m
1st Place – U18 Women's High Jump
This showing at the Legion Nationals follows her phenomenal results earlier this summer at the U20 Nationals in June. There, she captured second place in the U20 Women's 100m final with a blistering time of 11.58, alongside another first place performance in the U20 Women's High Jump.
Top 5 Finish for Lorenzo
A massive shoutout to Lorenzo Barillaro, who battled a highly competitive field in the long sprints to secure a strong 5th place finish overall in the U18 Men's 400m final with a time of 49.47, after running a blazing 49.31 in the prelims! Taya Fraser's Resilient Run
Special recognition goes to Taya Fraser, who showed incredible grit and determination after battling through injuries to get to the start line, Taya stepped up and delivered a resilient performance, securing 6th place with a time of 1:03.15.
